0718ting’s 25th belated bday dinner

celebrated ting’s belated birthday dinner at orchard cineleisure’s bbq chicken. we ordered the family combo meal, just nice for the four of us, each 2 pc of chicken each. the girls find the drumsticks spicy. i couldn’t register any taste when first ate it, but after a while, the spices kicked in. overall, not bad… we then moved to orchard central’s mos burger to have a doll gathering. we managed to get a corner spot but still attract curious onlookers from neighbouring tables. for the first time, i went on manual mode on my finepix f31fd – interesting results though the pics are a wee bit whitewashed (must be the aperture settings) and some are taken using the usual flower mode (that explains the intense warmth). here goes:

successful!

received uni’s letter of offer today. need to confirm by this friday 17 july. i’ve like 2 days to make up my mind. maybe will take the next intake in nov 2009. july 2009 is too short a notice. mom asked if i’m ready to go back to school. ready or not, i’ve to take it heads on, there’s not much time left. will discuss with dad this thurs. bet he’s gonna ask me the same question. the question for me now is: will a degree in marketing help in my design career? my interests lie in two areas: creative production (the artist) and ordering information (the organizer).

goodbye ssangchu couple…

i shouldn’t be online right now. i’ve to stay away just in case i’m tempted to rewatch the ssangchu couple episodes again. unfortunately, i’ve come across recaps of the ssangchu couple episodes and here i am lol and smiling ear to ear. yesterday 38th episode (farewell episode) made me teary-eyed and throat clogged watching the couple leaving their final messages to their future spouses on top of mt halla. it’s been an intense week of youtube watching of we got married! i haven’t had enough sleep, i can feel the little veins in my eyes popping due to too much staring at the monitor.

went to visit abang at hospital just now. again the train broke down at pasir ris line. his face was seriously swollen. when said goodbye, my voice nearly broke. the mask and low lighting saved me. i can’t see any more of him in that state. it is so heartbreaking. he recognized me and called out “kakak lia”. we had a lot of fun playing and running around when we were small. now that the boys are grown up young men, everyone has become mimosa shy.

school bound?

i may be going back to school this july. taking up bsc (hons) in marketing from university of bradford, uk. today’s preview was ok, the guy spoke with an accent. there was a couple of humorous notes. the fees are ok, i’ve saved enough. it’s a matter of whether i can juggle work, school work, sewing and fencing in 3 years.

a funny feeling

finished watching boys over flowers this morning. not watching it feels funny. i think i’m having withdrawal symptoms.

ride safe

shafiq got into an accident. half of his face is badly injured, teeth broken. very sad. the problem is that when you ride a motorbike, a lot of circumstances are against you. that’s why whenever you order something to be delivered to your home, please be considerate and wait patiently. someone else’s son/brother/husband is doing his best to deliver the product for you. a lot of our young men lose their lives on the road. i still keep the newspaper article where a father was photographed kissing the forehead of his dead son on the road. i hope such a thing won’t happen to any parents. it’s hard enough to bring and raise a human being to the world, even harder to lose them to careless riding.

june09 updates

it’s been a while since i wrote anything here. i’ve been carried away by the boys over flowers craze. i’m watching it in reverse.

senior luts howl photo at luts website is looking more and more like ji hoo. schuyler must be able to carry thick black eyebrows and black hair. hope to be able to wipe the melancholia off him with a new face up. IDAS SCHUYLER is somewhere in his 20s. came up with his name but forgot to come up with his character.

0618 – went to hunt for ting’s bday prezzie last thurs with ying. was on the train home when received call. luckily train was at lavender, if reached bedok, won’t turn back. shaw house isetan carried delight print at $28. measuring at 20×15cm, ting can fit in her canon digi camera, wires, batts and mp3 player.  we’ve to reduce the number of bags she carry.

0620 – went to taka today. bought the ceramic mini seal at taka’s art friend. bought the initial “A”. would’ve bought “G” and “S” but such whimsical purchases don’t make sense. bought geox respira ankle boots at $109. not even worn the black pointy toed flats, now bought another…

kris allenation vs adam fanbert

very evil of me not to give a standing ovation. i sat down, affirmed people have made their decision and kris is their choice. simon did remind voters to vote for talent. when kris sang “kiss the girl” with keith urban, i knew that performance sealed him the winner. it’s his laid back charm, the guy next door who’s very musically talented (but was momentarily unsure of his victory, tsk tsk tsk). it’s been a fantastic season of fantastic talents. congratulations, gentlemen!
