dishevelled and unbalanced today. on left leg, above heel is swollen again. last case was in 2006. kind of limping to avoid exerting body weight on left foot. doc told me to not to move around much for 1-2 weeks. have to attend training tomorrow, can’t afford to lay low for 2 weeks. hope by tomorrow the inflammation has subsided and there’s no more pain. what if inflammation get worse after tomorrow’s training?

possible cause #1 – improper shoes worn for last week’s lesson
if it’s because of improper shoes, how come the pain didn’t come immediately after training? in truth, i ignored the initial discomfort felt during training. but since i had to feel the floor when moving forward/backward/lunge hence chose to wore flat black cloth shoes with flat rubber soles.

possible cause #2 – practiced footwork at home over weekdays
maybe “explosive” movements without warming up trigger everything. experienced some pain near weekend, on saturday pointed out to rokiah that calf muscles are strengthening. turns out yesterday, both foot rebelled on me. whoopee, now i know what it’s called:

Medical (Symptom) Definition: “Achilles tendonitis is inflammation of the achilles tendon.”

Achilles tendon =  a strong tendon at the back of the heel that connects the posterior calf muscles (gastrocnemius and soleus) to the heel bone.
Itis = inflammation (pain)
Physiological (Cause) Definition:

Achilles tendonitis is a repetitive strain injury involving lower leg muscles and tendons and their point of attachment to bones. It is typically characterized by tight gastrocnemius and soleus (posterior) muscles/tendons and typically weak tibialis anterior and extensor hallucis and digitorum longus (anterior) muscles/tendons.
